Actually, it's pretty exciting to find something like that because we can learn a great deal from it. An unidentified bone brings on a whole new flurry of questions and puzzle pieces waiting to be put into place, and sometimes it brings on the discovery of a new animal or tells us something we didn't know about a previously identified animal.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5046525157310820204.post-33904742866478206302007-11-09T11:39:00.000-06:002007-11-09T11:39:00.000-06:00So do ya'll ever get frustrated when working in th...So do ya'll ever get frustrated when working in the digs?... As Dr. Bakker has said, "Fossils speak to us of times far, far away. It's like going on a time safari to another world...It's like shining a light into a dark, magic place and finding something looking back out at you."

Sounds pretty fun, right? It can be hard, too - think 115 degrees, rattlesnakes, chiggers, 3 kinds of cactus - but always fascinating.

Thanks for your comment! Check back soon - they are always finding cool new fossils, and we're posting pictures from the site every day.

ErinHouston Museum of Natural Sciencehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10232146452663178740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5046525157310820204.post-18254986930650403902007-11-07T15:03:00.000-06:002007-11-07T15:03:00.000-06:00Hey I think what you guys do is awesome and I wish...Hey I think what you guys do is awesome and I wish i could be that smart. Only 7&1/2 hours with two stops (gas and sit-down lunch).

I almost turned around twice this morning -- really! No joke! I miss the fossils (and you all too!) a lot! Looks like you are finding so much more! Yippee!

I'll keep track of you all while in Vegas!

PEACE,
GretchenGretchen Sparkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01861613243103357250noreply@blogger.com
